Jamie's Italian, Greenwich

I love Jamie Oliver's food, and I got the chance to sample his latest summer menu at his Greenwich branch of Italian restaurants last weekend.
My cousin lives in Greenwich, so it was lush having lunch somewhere local instead of having to venture into central for a decent meal.
When we walked in we noticed how dark the front of the restaurant was, however the front of house walked us to the back of the restaurant straightaway, which is more like a large greenhouse, with wooden floors, a brick fire and booths as well as tables dotted about. We were seated immediately, which was a relief because it was a busy restaurant and I'd anticipated a wait.
With the menus already on the table I had a chance to peruse the mains without trouble.
After much deliberation and recommendations from our waitress I decided on the free range chicken salad which came with green beans and seasonal leaves.
It was just the injection of sunshine I needed on that drizzly and somewhat gloomy afternoon. The plate was a pretty bed of greens topped with a chicken breast, served on the bone.
My cousin ordered the lamb, which was three lamb chops served on a wooden plank, decorated with a pot of polenta chips, crushed nuts, cream dipping sauce and fried red onions. Whilst his meal looked quite large, it easily filled him up, leaving room for a little dessert.
The polenta chips were my favourite part of his meal. They had a creamy texture and coupled nicely with the crushed nuts and dips.
My cousin and I ended up going for dessert elsewhere, but we left Jamie's Italian full, satisfied, and happy.
