If you enjoy being out in the fresh air and enjoy idyllic views then Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is for you. Set in the beautiful village of Ingleton in North Yorkshire, the waterfalls trail is an ideal day out.

We arrived shortly after lunch time and the huge car park was crammed with cars. Obviously, a popular destination for locals and tourists. A family ticket cost us 15 which included parking.

The footpaths are well kept and well defined and in most places, there are security barriers. Our mischievous monkeys went off exploring, but because the footpath is quite close to two rivers we kept our eagle eyes on them.

Ingleton waterfalls trail isn't for everyone, the rough footpath, steps and obstacles would prevent wheelchair users and people with pushchairs from taking on the trail. Also, a good pair of shoes or boots is a necessity.

Halfway round the trail, at the top of three flights of steps is the welcome sight of the kiosk, selling drinks, ice creams and other tasty snacks, it wasn't s surprise to find a) the queue and b) people sitting and taking in the view whilst enjoying a rest and an ice cream.

The trail is 4 and a half miles long and takes on average 2 and a half to 4 hours to complete. It boasts some of the most spectacular waterfall scenery in the UK. So, if you love gorgeous scenery, enjoy walking and love being up close and personal to nature, pay a visit to Ingleton Waterfalls trail, you won't regret it.
