The National Gallery is holding their first Family Fun Festival for the February half term on the 17th & 18th. Imaginary Worlds is designed to inspire and spark the imagination and transport you to faraway lands. There will be new stories and characters introduced to you in a range of puppet shows art workshops, film screenings, concerts and more.

You can also pre-order a special Family Festival Goodie Bag to be collected in store. It is £5 and includes a pen, pencil, rubber, pack of twelve coloured pencils, magnetic notepad, and a National Gallery postcard.

Events includes a pram tour designed to accommodate parents with children 18 months and under, Stay and Play sessions inspired by landscape paintings, and Chill and Watch, which will be showing short films suitable for children, such as student animations and magic lantern films by the pioneering 19th/20th century filmmaker & illusionist, Georges Méliès.

There will also be the opportunity to get your art on display at the gallery in Feathers and Wings. In the workshop you will make small feather and wing inspired creations, which will then be added to a freestanding installation that will grow over the course of the festival.

Other events include a screening of Fantasia, Arthur's Dream Boat puppet show, Magical Music orchestra shows, and a Mystery Story Promenade through the gallery.

Admission to all events is free.
