Usually when I think of seafood, I think of the King Prawns you find back home in Australia. I find it hard, that London, a city that does in many aspects far supersede its laid back neighbour, to even be able to rustle up out of their negative five degree waters, anything that is remotely bigger than a pinky finger. Surprisingly though, they do, and Il Bordello's in Wapping have first dibs.
I was invited on a date to Bordello with someone quite special to me, who insisted I try the Lemon & Garlic Prawns. As long as they weren't from Tesco I was happy. The prawns shocked me when they came out, as they were the biggest I had seen in London in some time on the dining circuit. The true test was to see if they were, juicy and firm and packed full of flavour. These prawns had my tick of approval. They were firm, juicy, and the lemon and garlic sauce that they were presented in was to die for. Do yourself a favour, if you are an Aussie living in London you must head over to Wapping (located on London's River Thames) and immerse yourself in this zingy and tantalising dish.
