Wallpaper looking a bit sorry for itself? Shelves about to fall from their rotting hinges? Carpet got one too many stains for your liking? If you're thinking about making a few changes around your home and are looking for some inspiration about how to shake things up a bit, consider popping along to the
Ideal Home Show , taking place at Earls Court from 15th March to 1st April.
First things first – the Ideal Home Show is
BIG. You'll want at least a day here. To help you make your way around the event, it's been split into zones: Interiors, Food & Housewares, Technology, Home Improvements, Woman, Gardens, Shopping, Show Homes. It'll be like eight exhibitions rolled into one.
The
Interiors section includes inspiring 'room sets' from the Ideal Home magazine, offering lots of ideas on how to jazz up your home, or possibly tone things down a bit.
Foodies can get their fill in the
Food & Housewares area, with plenty of free samples on offer to visitors. Look out for cooking demos and new ideas for recipes too.
The
Technology zone is, as you might imagine, growing every year. Have fun trying out the latest and greatest gadgets and gizmos, and learn about new developments in home-based energy-saving technology.
If DIY is your thing, be sure to pay the
Home Improvements section a visit. However, if you're a walking disaster when it comes to changing a plug or putting up a shelf, stay well away. This section is most definitely
not for you.
The
Woman zone invites visitors to check out the latest fashion trends and try out new products, whereas green-fingered types will want to make a beeline for the Garden zone where they can get advice on how to give their garden or window box a revamp.
For those visiting the
Shopping section, the Ideal Home Show website promises "a treasure trove of beautiful home accessories, stunning gifts, exciting toys and innovative new technology", while the
Show Homes zone does exactly what it says on the tin, with everyone invited to take their time exploring three amazing full-scale model show houses.
Of course, working your way around the huge venue as you check out all of the Ideal Home Show's offerings means your feet will be calling out for a well-earned break from time to time. Being a world-renowned exhibition centre with years of experience welcoming visitors, Earls Court has you covered. From little cafes offering a drink and a snack to full-on restaurants that you might not want to leave, there's something for everyone.
Having been running for over 100 years, the Ideal Home Show must be one of the world's oldest exhibitions. Despite its rich history, the show always has its sights set firmly on the future, so why not make a date and see what tomorrow has in store.
