The best selling children's author, Philip Pullman is renowned for his famous fantasy books, particularly the series
His Dark Materials. But before the trilogy took the world by storm, Pullman had written many other more modest, but equally as charming, tales, including
I Was A Rat!
One evening an elderly couple get a knock at the door, and answer to a scruffy looking little boy. When they ask him who he is, he says 'I was a rat.' And so the story begins.
This dark, but comedic fairytale is the story of
Cinderella in disguise, and was originally adapted for the stage by Italian director, Teresa Ludovico. Now, for the first time, the show has been brought to English audiences at the
Nottingham Playhouse. Between the 26th March - 18th April, you can enjoy the humour, fantasy, and adventure of this terribly entertaining tale.
Tickets are £13 for adults, £10 for children, or you can buy bargain seats for £8.50. There will also be a free post-show discussion on Thursday 28th March and Thursday 4th April, and can be booked by calling 0115 941 9419.
