Discover this hidden gem in Hyde Park
With the number of independent picture houses in sharp decline, the Hyde Park Picture House continues to be a little gem in Leeds. If you want an alternative to the high prices of cinema chains, then this picture house, tucked away on the outskirts of the town, is ideal. The building itself is not only very charming, but smaller and more homely. The ticket prices are also cheaper, and the range of films not only features current releases, but also older films you may have forgotten. The snack bar is also more reasonably priced than a chain cinema, and the treats available are very mixed too. I enjoyed a fruit tea on my most recent visit...

I took my boyfriend here to see Wim Wenders' film 'Wings of Desire' on Valentine's Day. It turned out to be the perfect treat, as the snug screen room and old world charm of the building made for an ideal date location. Whether you're going with friends, your partner, or even a first date, this smaller and more intimate picture house is less imposing than the chain cinemas, but much more friendly.
