A small realm dedicated to vegetarian food

If you find yourself on a day trip to Canterbury from London then this is fabulous idea for a place to eat. The Hutch is a vegetarian restaurant in Canterbury situated on Palace Street. Upon entrance you are immediately greeted by the professional and friendly staff. The restaurant has a nature like feel with its wooden furniture, beams and ceiling. Overall the décor in the restaurant compliments the vegetarian cuisine perfectly.

The opening times, reservation details, menu* and prices can be found on the website. There is a lunch menu and dinner menu, with varying specials promoted on the day and an a la carte menu. And of course a few temptations on the dessert menu. You can really feel the enthusiasm and dedication the restaurant has towards vegetarian food. The waitress was happy to answer any questions regarding the menu. Some of the dishes can be altered to make them suitable for vegans.

The drinks have been specially selected to ensure that they are suitable for vegetarians. The rose lemonade with quirky little ginger pieces was very nice and refreshing and it looked really sophisticated. There is also pressed apple juice and a selection of wines, teas and coffees.

One of the starters on offer is food tapas platter for 1, which is also available in a share size. The pickled mushrooms were particularly interesting to taste. The Hutch restaurant really does provide so much inspiration for dishes that can be recreated at home and demonstrates how to make vegetarian food extravagant.

You will find that the menu will have something on offer for you regardless of how hungry you are. There are soups if you feel like having something light or for example a vegetarian burger if you are looking for something wholesome.

This is the twice cooked cheese and spring onion soufflé served with potato wedges, the flavour was lovely and it had a really light texture.

The Hutch restaurant is a fabulous experience for anyone who has chosen a vegetarian lifestyle. It is also suitable for non-vegetarians simply wishing to try something different. The welcoming environment is a great place to have a meal with friends or family.
