I know lately people want new food experiences and the latest and newest sauces, etc, but some people still like old, basic home-made food without fancy named dishes and complex ingredients. If you fancy some good old fashioned food, try The Horse and Jockey on Wood Green Road in Wednesbury, which is less than a mile from junction 9 on a straight road.

They have steaks pies, chicken (grilled breast), all day breakfast, and a mixed grill, amongst other dishes. Also on the menu are 'specials' for example braised steak and curries plus starters and desserts. Prices for mains start at about 4.95, so it's great value for money. Sticking to their traditional values The Horse and Jockey use local butchers for their meat, and every meal is freshly made. Drinks are averagely priced and you're sure of a warm welcome.

The pub has not been modernised, so it still has an old style charm; if you fancy a change from mod-cons give it a try.

I agree that sometimes it is nice just to go with home comforts. Pub food can be good at that.
