Vintage Hobby That Can Save You Cash
A crochet class for beginners aims to get locals hooked into a new hobby.

Stitches And Hos group runs the Hook Me Up classes at Cherry Reds In John Bright Street, Birmingham city centre.

Classes cost £30 each and run regularly through the year. The latest sessions take place on April 5 and June 7 from 6.30pm to 9pm.

As well as providing all the necessary materials, participants also get a free hot drink and a slice of cake.

Groups are small and friendly with the hope of encouraging people to try the vintage craft to create everything from baby clothes to tea cosies, dresses or gifts for friends.

It is one of a series of craft classes run by Stitches And Hos.

An organiser said: "This course is designed for those who are new to crochet or those wanting to reacquaint themselves with the basics.

"You will learn how to start and finish your crochet and how to produce a chain and some basic stitches. You will also learn how to crochet flat and in the round."
