Join us for an exciting exploration into the pioneering work of palaeontologist Mary Anning, renowned for discovering some of the first ichthyosaurs, also known as ‘sea dragons'. Children will meet the museum's Geology curator for an expert insight into the life of Temnodontosaurus, handle fossils of Jurassic sea creatures, discover how the Temnodontosaurus fossil has been brought back to life through conservation and palaeo-art, learn how Anning's discoveries revolutionized scientific understanding of evolution, and enjoy an interactive retelling of Mary Anning's remarkable discovery of a Temnodontosaurus skull in 1813. Structured learning activities cater to home-educated children aged 7-11 years old, with a duration of 90 minutes.
