This article is all about meat, and one of the best places you will find in London to eat it. The name is Hawksmoor , and of all the venues on offer (and there are a few), I'm going to choose the one near Spitafields for you...

Hawksmoor is famous, as I said, for meat - but in particular steak, which it takes from native to Britain cattle, to much acclaim. Be warned though, as the portions are more than generous, and it may take two people to finish them.

Don't think that this place rests on its dinner laurels though, as it also opens for lunch, with some of the best burgers you will ever taste, and to compliment either sitting, cocktails created by award-winning bartenders - with a focus on the old and traditional as well as newer concoctions.

Despite having a very comprehensive and thorough wine list, they do have an interesting concept at play on a Monday too - a £5 wine club , where you can bring along your own wine to drink, and just pay a corkage charge of £5 - very economical.

As I said, this is just one of the four Hawksmoor restaurants available in London, but I like it most due to its location and general ease to get to, especially if you have been shopping in the nearby Spitafields Market. Don't forget to bring an appetite (or a friend you can share with...)
