Great cocktails, no wallies" is the candid tagline for the low-light but high calibre cocktail bar, Happiness Forgets. This speakeasy cocktail bar in Hoxton Square hides away in a basement and is so dim, you need the strategically placed candles to read the menu.
The bar staff mix the cocktails with delight and dexterity, sometimes veering off-piste and creating bespoke concoctions on a whim. The cocktail list comprises of well-balanced flavours and aromas with a vintage twist on favourites and well thought-out presentation. If refreshing bubbles, floral aroma or the gravitational pull of whiskey are your thing, you won't be disappointed.
No food is served in this establishment, so it is advisable to eat first as the drinks are a touch on the strong side. This does mean, however, that tables and seats at the bar will frequently become free as the rumbling of a stomach becomes too loud to ignore.
