I started going to Hampton Court Palace at a young age and I am going to give you a very good, long list as to why I think that you should go to Hampton Court. It may be on your own or it may be as part of a group.
Hampton Court Palace is a place where minds can be enriched and history literally comes alive through actors or audio guides. Everything is kept up to date, well tended to and beautiful. You don't have to like history to go to Hampton Court. You could like gardening and horticulture because the gardens there in the spring and summer are beautiful. They are so full of life and colour that you could get lost in them, especially the maze.
Many of you might know that Hampton Court is where Henry VIII spent a lot of his time and so it is rich in Tudor history. I would suggest the audio guide rather than the tour because then you can keep to your own time.
Another aspect of Hampton Court that I would suggest would be the many events that they hold, such as the ice rink during the Christmas Season or the Ghost tours during Halloween. The events that they hold will not disappoint and there is something for all ages.
The last time that I was there I saw a young mother with her toddler and it just goes to show you that they are never too young to be enriched with history. Taking young children to such an interesting place like Hampton Court will not only help them, but may get them interested in a future career.
For anyone coming for a weekend in London I would suggest going to Hampton Court because what better way to see how the Royals used to live than walking in their footsteps, so to speak. The food courts also create beautiful food to tickle your taste buds and it is all hand prepared on sight.
So, if you are ever in London or just want to have a full day out filled with interest then go to Hampton Court for the history or the flowers or the events because there is something for everyone and I am sure that you will enjoy it.
