Thu 01 Feb 2018 - Wed 28 Feb 2018
In the UK February is LGBT History Month. February was chosen, as opposed to October when it's celebrated in the United States, because it coincides with the
abolishment of Section 28 - a law that forbade the promotion of homosexuality or publishing of anything that was seen to promote homosexuality. Across Hampshire there will be celebrations for both Hampshire Pride and LGBT History Month including film screenings, lectures, and a call to fly your rainbow flags.
Hampshire PrideThe main Hampshire Pride celebrations will be held on Saturday 24th of Feb. Things kick off with an assembly at the Winchester School of Art at 1pm, followed by a parade through Winchester at 2pm. There will be a indoor street festival with entertainment and market stalls at EII Court from 3pm and a evening party at the University of Winchester Student Union from 7:30pm.
