How to draw cartoons.
Children can get awfully animated during the half term; excitement and energy levels soar to heights that you might have only thought possible from the likes of Daffy Duck. Over the October half time, The Cartoon Museum is offering the opportunity to let kids transfer some of that kinetic mojo into their own cartoon character. Workshops will include classes in animation, comics, and drawing techniques.
Claymation Workshop 26th October, 11am-3.30pm, Age 8-11, £20
Ever wondered how Wallace & Gromit was made? Create characters out of modelling clay, then animate them to create a short film.
Cutout Animation 28th October, 11am-3.30pm, Age 8-15, £20
Using the same techniques as Terry Gilliam for Monty Python, create a short funny film.
Chalk Animation 29th October, 11am-3.30pm, Age 8-15, £20
Lear how to draw and erase characters in chalk to create a stylised animation.
All the films made will be put on YouTube to watch later.
Create a Beano Comic Strip 30th October, 11am-1pm, Age 8-11, £10
Using worksheets as a guide, create a one page comic strip featuring your favourite Beano characters.

Create a page of comic artwork featuring your favourite film and comic superherores.
Manga Faces & Figures
31st October, 2pm-4pm, Age 8-11, £10
All you need to know about drawing manga characters. Learn about faces, expressions, body shape, and clothing.
1st November, 11am-1pm, Age 11-15, £10
You'll be given professional markers to draw and colour characters. You'll need to take your own copy of a comic or manga novel to work from.

Learn how to create detail and texture through shading.
