Children can find out if they really are the king or queen of the castle with an unusual half term ancestry hunt in the Midlands.
During half-term from February 18 to 26,
Warwick Castle has teamed up with Ancestry.co.uk for a quest to find living relatives of the fifteenth-century Earl of Warwick, Richard Neville.
Families will also be able to step back in time with dungeons, a time tower, Horrible Histories maze tour and even a giant battle catapult firing into action.
Visitors to the Castle during half-term will be given a discount to ancestry.co.uk so that can discover if they have any links to the family.
While the Mighty Trebuchet - the world's largest siege engine – will celebrate its 10,000th firing and the new attraction for 2017 is Upstairs Downstairs, a romp through the heyday of Daisy, Countess of Warwick, which features a special Kids' Tour.
In addition, there are is the twice-daily Flight of the Eagles showcase with birds of prey including vultures and eagles; the Time Tower telling the story of how the castle came to be a seat of power and also the Princess Tower tour, aimed at younger visitors.
While another section includes Kingmaker, highlighting the story of how Richard Neville prepared for battle, and the Castle Dungeon for the bravest visitors.
For children and parents that are fond of the
Horrible Histories series, there's a Horrible Histories Maze tour that taken families through the long-gone eras from England's past with a touch of fun.
