The Half Moon pub is, if you like good live music, one of those places you really should know about.

Why? Well look at the pictures on the walls - and you'll quickly realise the depth of some of the luminaries who have passed through the doors and played their tunes.

Kasabian have played here, U2 has played here - yes, even the Rolling Stones have played here - in fact Keith Richards played here as recently as 2000 (check out the photo !)

This is no relic to the past though, as the venue is still very much alive and kicking with the best new music, along with established acts, which can be experienced and savoured every night of the week, week in week out in the gig room. Even if you're not a keen gig-goer, the pub is still worth a visit for the history, the nostalgia and the memorabilia dotted around the well-presented pub interior.

As for the food and drink - there is a decent menu , with a refined pub grub feel, complemented by well-chosen wines and craft beers.

Is it Putney's best pub? Probably - and if you take into account its rich musical heritage, it is most definitely high on the list of best pubs in London too - you owe it to yourself to go there music lovers.
