One of Britain's leading comedians is to perform a special stand-up show in support of a children's hospice in the Midlands. Hal Cruttenden, who is probably best known for his appearances on television comedy shows including The John Bishop Show, Have I Got News For You, and Mock the Week, is to perform at the Lichfield Garrick theatre on Friday 23rd March. The top comic, who is also a regular guest on BBC 2's Great British Bake Off - An Extra Slice, will perform a unique, one-off show called #ONEINAMILLION in support of The Donna Louise hospice, which is based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
Hal Cruttenden will be performing a one-off charity show
Hal, who has delighted audiences across the country with his own unmistakable brand of humour, is regarded as one of the top stand up comedians working in the UK today, but is also a highly accomplished writer and actor. As well as his numerous TV appearances, which also includes several guest slots on Live at the Apollo (BBC1 and 2), Hal has also featured regularly on the radio, with the second series of his sitcom Hal having recently been broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Other radio appearances include a team captain on Britain versus the World and spots on shows such as Loose Ends and Act Your Age. In addition, he has released two comedy DVDs, Tough Luvvie and 'Straight Outta Cruttenden, and managed to complete four nationwide tours in the last few years. In fact, the hard-working comedian, who is a three-time Chortle Award nominee as well as being nominated for the Perrier Newcomer Award back in 2002, is due to announce a new UK tour on March 1st with dates starting from the Autumn of 2018. In the last two years, he has also taken shows to the Melbourne Comedy Festival and the New Zealand Comedy Festival.
All net proceeds from the one-off show at the Lichfield Garrick will be donated to The Donna Louise hospice. Chris Belyavin, regional fundraiser at The Donna Louise, said "We're delighted that Hal, a top British comedian, is holding this special, one off performance to raise money for The Donna Louise. We recently launched a huge fundraising appeal, called One in a Million, and we're asking people to do something, anything, to support The Donna Louise this year. By buying a ticket to Hal's show, you'll be attending a #ONEINAMILLION event and supporting hundreds of children and young adults across Staffordshire and Cheshire" added Chris. Hal Cruttenden will be appearing at the Lichfield Garrick on Friday 23rd March from 7.30pm. Tickets for this exclusive show are £26 and are available from the theatre's box office on 01543 412121 or by visiting www.lichfieldgarrick.com
