The village of Haddenham in Buckinghamshire have regular concerts, and ceilidhs and concerts at their village hall, but come Christmas, they have a special festival with extra merriment. This year's
is on the 7th December, and starting from 3pm, you'll be able to ceilidh your way down the hall.
What is a ceilidh you ask? It is a traditional Gaelic social gathering that originates from Ireland and Scotland. It includes folk music, and barn dance like routines.
Musicians performing at the festival include
Tom McConville , 'The Newcastle Fiddler', Dave Newy, duet-ers
Sue Brown and Lorraine Irwing , and the BBC FOLK Award Winning band,
Whapweasel . Just to had to the Yuletide cheer, a special appearance will be made by
The Magical Christmas Tree , a group of seasonal folk performers.
The festival lasts until 11.30pm, and for a full day adult tickets are £22-£26. Alternatively you can choose to just attend just the afternoon or evening, in which case, tickets are between £12-£14. Students and children also get discounts.
