Sam McBratney's timeless children's story 'Guess How Much I Love You' has long been a bedtime favourite. The story of Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hair, and their declarations of just how much they love each other, is treasured by adults and children. Guess How Much I Love You: Live brings the story to Southampton's NST Campus for a special half term event, from 12-17 February 2018.
In Guess How Much I Love You, Anita Jeram's softly drawn watercolour hares are transformed into cuddly, furry creatures brought to life on the stage. Each night Little Nutbrown Hair is but to sleep with a bedtime story, and each morning Big Nutbrown Hare and Little Nutbrown Hare explore the world around them, learning about the bugs and the flowers and sharing their love the whole time. The seasons change through Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter - each presents a new world for the two hares to discover. The two hares are joined by Mother Nature who helps to perform the musical numbers that complement the warm story kids will already love.
The show uses music, puppetry and interactive play to help bring the story to life. Guess How Much I Love You is produced by Selladoor Family who have previously done other family shows like James and the Giant Peach, Seussical and The Quite Remarkable Adventures of the Owl and the Pussycat.
Guess How Much I Love You is recommended for ages 3 and up. Young children can easily follow the story, and will enjoy the rich sets and the lively songs. Tickets are £12 for both adults and children. The show runs for 50 minutes and there is no interval, so make sure you try and take a toilet break before the show begins.
Tickets can be purchased online from the Nuffield Southampton Theatres website. Guess How Much I Love You will be showing every day from the Monday 12 February till Saturday 17 February. For more information head to the Selladoor Family website or get in touch with the NST.
