Westminster Hall, or the Great Hall, is the oldest building in Parliament Square and has been at the centre of British government for over 900 years. A visit to the hall is an education in fascinating historical events, as well as an experience of beautiful architecture from the expansive wooden ceiling to intricate stained glass windows.

For most of its lengthy history, the hall served as a legal and administrative centre and was used for coronations, large celebrations, and royal banquets. The lay-out and display of the hall still retains an atmosphere of aristocratic elegance, even though it's currently more often used for public exhibitions rather than royal parties.
