Puppets, Poetry, Art, Theatre, Music and More
Escape the city and check out the Goring and Streatley Festival, running from 27th June until 6th July 2014. It's less than an hour from London on the train and promises a wonderful day trip. The Thames-side villages are exceptionally picturesque with several characterful pubs and cafes to enjoy a bite to eat.
The Festival programme is packed with a wide variety of performances and workshops, from puppets to poetry, art, theatre and music. Click here to see the full programme.
Music includes performances by Georgie Fame and The Blue Flames, The Lightyears, the Merry Opera Company and the all women harmony group Songbirds.
Get your dancing shoes on and join the Palm Court Tea Dance, a street dance workshop or the Argentine Tango class.
Explore your creative side in some of the fantastic workshops including clay pot making, printmaking, drumming, festival costume making and circus skills.
If you're looking to really chill out, try the Chakra healing meditation session or join in with Thai Chi in the park.
Check out the Festival website and Festival Facebook page for more information. Tickets can be bought from the festival website or via the Box Office (07789 871620). Tickets are already on sale so book early to avoid disappointment. You can also follow the festival on Twitter: @GoringStreatley and hashtag #GorStrFestival
