The weather is turning now and I can definitely see some sun poking through those clouds. Two things start happening when the sun comes back, people start wanting to go out more and people think about getting on the dating scene a bit more. However, the amount of times I have been asked "Where is good for a date night?" so I thought I would share this gorgeous little place.
Tucked away in between Charing Cross Station and Embankment Station Gordon's Wine Bar is in fact the oldest wine bar in London and a perfect place for a first date. Incredibly romantic due to the low ceilings and dark atmosphere, they serve just wine soft drinks and a bit of beer. The wine list is huge so it's an easy way to impress on a date if you know your wine, but if you don't, just go with the house which is just as great.
In the summer time, they open up the outside bar and there are lots of little tables and chairs to sit at which is just lovely in the summer. One thing I would recommend, is that if you decide to sit inside (perhaps best considering it isn't quite warm enough yet), then get there before 6:30pm to be able to get a table.
Also a great place for groups of friends, but is a really impressive date place, especially because of the low lighting. Also, if the date is going well, they have some great food on offer from fish and salad to a large selection of bread and cheese to go with the wine.
Thirty seconds from both tube stations, Gordon's Wine Bar is an ideal after work drinking hole for Londoners.
