Put your hunting caps on and make sure your sniffing senses are at top peak, because it is time to track down some delicious food. But there's no need to go out shooting or plucking fur and feathers because all the hard work has been done for you.

Between the 11th - 13th September, the New Inn Yard have a special menu lined up, courtesy of SMWS. For those you who don't need this acronym decoding, you probably already have an idea of what is coming. If not, then let me clear the waters - or rather colour them a rich golden amber.

SMWS is the Scotch Malt Whisky Society , and they have decided to pair their rare single malt whisky with seasonal Scottish a game tapas. What does that create? The SMWS Glorious 12 . Join them on a flavour hunt, featuring twelve different types of wild game, including woodcock, hare, partridge, and wild boar, which have been expertly paired with twelve exceptional single cask whiskies, bursting with flavour. Some of the dishes include, Grouse on toasted brioche with roasted & pureed fig, Roe deer striploin with frites, béarnaise & rowan jelly, and Partridge, butterbean & chorizo. Personally, the third one gets my vote.

There will be two sittings each night at 6.45pm and 8.45pm. Tickets are £29, which includes a choice of four pairings, and on the 11th September, Thomas Hunt will give a talk on 'Foraging for Flavours'. If you don't want the full course, then you are also welcome to pop in for free society drams and a limited selection of game tapas.
