It isn't hard to find somewhere to eat in Camden - in fact you would probably find it harder to find a place where you can't eat, such is the plethora of food places to be found there - especially as you get towards Camden Lock Market. There are food stalls galore here of any flavour, nationality, cuisine or method of cooking - so why am I going to recommend a restaurant you may wonder.

Well first of all look at the building - jutting skyward from out of the market like part of spaceship that has just landed slap-bang in the middle of Camden Lock. All you can see is the name - Gilgamesh - and an escalator heading up to who knows where. Well make the effort, because at the top you will find a rather special Pan-Asian restaurant serving a fine array of foods influenced by the cuisines of countries as diverse as Japan, China and South East Asia. The variety is amazing and a range of menus exist to tempt you. One speciality worth noting are the black rice and sake combinations, made especially for the restaurant by the acclaimed Head Chef Ian Pengelley.

As well as all the food on offer, there is the luxurious bar area with extensive cocktail list. It is at the weekend Gilgamesh really comes alive though, as it's renowned club and dancefloor, complete with VIP areas, kick into action, for the great and the gorgeous to dance the night away into the small hours. And don't forget, once you walk back outside, you're in Camden once again - what more do you need?
