Denim on denim, biker boots and Doc Martens are so in-Vogue at the moment. So why not go a step further and bring back the games of the 90s and beyond...oh...wait...I can't. You know why I can't? Because some stupid magazine told me that I should clear out my house and keep it clutter free. Those fools were wrong, because now I can no longer play old skool (that's right, with a 'k') Nintendo and annoyingly hum along to the Super Mario Bros theme tune. Nor can I fail miserably at Jenga and Operation - darn requirement for a steady hand.
If you also followed daft advice to throw excellent things out of your house, then you should do two things:
1. Look in the mirror and berate yourself for at least a week because we all know that you threw out 'Guess Who', and kept that ugly jumper you never wear.
2. Head down to George IV in Chiswick (closest station Turnham Green) this Sunday 23rd November at 6pm to play old games and reminisce like there is no tomorrow...there isn't a tomorrow, the games aren't yours.
Tickets are £10 on the door, and you can email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve tickets if you're not going to make kick off. Speaking of which - excellent Segway - there's also a FIFA Tournament with a prize for the winner.
Plus Comedian Lee Brace will finish the night off with a Pub Quiz designed by non other than...Lee Brace himself. This man is hilarious (lucky for him, eh? A comedian without a funny bone is like Christmas without Turkey) so I'm heading down for that reason alone.
All proceeds will go towards the MND Association West London & Middlesex branch. See, all that retro, football and quiz fun, and it's for a good cause. That's your charity donation, and nostalgia fix done for the year.
