Engage all your senses and experience Peruvian and Andean culture at Somerset House this May. In his first solo exhibition, Barcelona-born graffiti artist, Sixe Parades , will be filling their underground spaces with art, film, music, and food.

His use of bright primary colours might make you think he's hijacked a rainbow, but those vivid tones set a startling contrast with the classic Portland stonework of Somerset House.

Sixe blends tradition with modernity, using geometric shapes to represent animals, adolescents, and ancestors. He defines this surrealist approach as Futurismo Ancestral . The exhibition, which runs from the 21st - 26th May, includes twenty-five large scale sculptures, such as tapestries, totems, ceramics, and quipus. Quipus are knotted cords used by the Incas to communicate and record information. In addition there will be smaller works, like masks and chichas, which are hand-drawn concert posters decorated with fluorescent inks. Also available will be daily free activities and cultural cuisine.
