Christmas is almost upon us and it's time to buy presents! This year, though, more people than ever want to track down thoughtful, inexpensive, eco-friendly gifts. So where can the eco-conscious buyer go in London to find a wide variety of funky, yet ethical, pressies?
This is where Future Friendly Fairs steps in. Set up five years ago to bring environmentally friendly traders together to sell goods to green-minded consumers, on Saturday 12 December its earth-friendly market comes to Hampstead's town hall (closest tube is Belsize Park). Between 10am and 5pm you can wander around the stunning atrium and surround yourself with unique gift ideas. There's even a Christmas food hall in one of the adjoining studios so you can also stock up on tasty treats for the festive period.
Traders and designers offer an incredible range of unusual presents at these fairs, which aren't available in the high street shops. Original clothing, jewellery, candles, ceramics, handmade cards, toys, cushions, throws, shoes, gadgets and decorations are just a taste of what's on offer.
