No need for the popcorn here

I like the cinema, as does my wife, but going to the pictures is a little lacking in effort I feel. We also like going to restaurants, but what to do when you've finished? And what happens if one or the the other isn't good enough? Luckily I found a place where we can do both - quality guaranteed - and all within the walls of a rather luxurious hotel in central London. So thank the heavens for Charlotte Street Hotel and its Film Club.

So, here's what you get...a private cinema screening room (think plush seats and cherry-picked movie screenings), followed by a special set menu in the fabulous Oscar restaurant - doesn't sound too bad does it? Add into that a menu full of rather lovely sounding cocktails and you have all the ingredients needed for a perfect celebration....

With screenings incorporating everything from old classics through to modern day feel-good movies, there is plenty to keep your eyes glued to the screen before you. Simply check which day your film is showing from the list, then make sure you don't eat popcorn during it, in preperation for the delicious 3-course menu to follow. Look out for special events too, with the possibility of special menus or canopes before the screening rather than dinner afterwards.

You'll leave the hotel feeling like a movie star, not like I usually do, doing the stiff-leg shuffle and really wishing I hadn't eaten a whole popcorn bucket to myself...
