Do you know what inspired J.R.R. Tolkien's Hobbit and Lord of the Rings? It was a series of four operas by Richard Wagner called The Ring Cycle. An adaptation of Norse myths, it tells the story of how gods, mortal men, and mythical creatures fall under the spell of a powerful ring which grants world dominations for its owner.

The Scoop will perform a whole new production sans operatic score between the 6th - 31st August, Wednesdays - Sundays. The show will begin at 6pm and end at 10.15pm, with a break after each act.

Books About Town
Across London

Many people sit down to read a good book, but not many would intentionally sit on one. Books About Town is an art project in which several public benches in the capital will be designed and painted to look like an open book. Not any old book mind you; each bench will represent a different piece of literature, including Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, works from Shakespeare, Agatha Christie and many more. Look out for the benches from the 4th July. Once the event ends on the 21st September, the benches will be auctioned off for charity.
