If you are between the ages of 16 and 26 and have never heard of the Entry Pass at the National Theatre, get ready to have your mind blown.
The world-renowned National Theatre, located on the South Bank in Central London, has a special scheme for young people that gives you the opportunity to experience the highest quality theatre at the lowest reasonable price. Sound interested? Here's what you'll want to do:
1) Sign up for an Entry Pass (it's free!) through the National Theatre's website here.
Once you register you'll have access to all of the amazing perks set aside for Entry Pass members only. This doesn't only include ticket prices-- it means 10% off at the National Theatre's bookshop full of plays, books, souvenirs and gifts, 10% off all bars and restaurants on the National Theatre's premises, 15% off costume and prop hire from the theatre, access to backstage tours for only £5, frequent special offers for the NT's West End productions, and much more.
2) Call the box office to talk about booking tickets.
Entry Pass members can buy top-value seats to all National Theatre productions for only £5. Yes, you heard me correctly-- only £5. There is also a massive discount for bringing a friend under the age of 26, where you can get a "mate's rate" for only £12.50. When you call the box office, ask about what shows still have Entry Pass tickets available, because they tend to sell out quickly. Be sure to ask for approximate dates that new sets of tickets will be released so you can grab some before the popular shows sell out.
3) Follow the National Theatre on Twitter
The National Theatre's Twitter account gives the best up-to-date information about ticket booking, entry pass benefits, casting and awards news, and more. It's a very useful way to stay updated on the shows and events going on at the NT and how you can take advantage of them with your Entry Pass.
Once you follow the very simple steps of registering for an entry pass, your Entry Pass will be your key to experiencing some wonderful London theatre. Book some tickets and stay "in the know" about NT events through twitter and you'll have terrific access to one of the most well-respected theatres in Europe. Enjoy!
