Starting this evening and running for six glorious days BAFTA has teamed up with Cineworld to give away free cinema tickets across the UK. This is not a marketing ploy just for some silver screen tosh hoping to turn a buck once the DVDs are released, oh no, these free tickets are for the big winners of the Bafta Awards themselves - give or take the Kings Speech, the biggest films of the year.

What You Can See

Spread over six days there are 5 free films on show, all of which are now holders of the esteemed Bafta trophies. Whether you want to take in the highly acclaimed and intelligent dramas The Social Network or Inception, both nominated in the Best Film category. Or, you would rather enjoy a Dark Comedy like 4 Lions there is something for everyone. From winner of best animated film Toy Story 3 to Best Foreign language film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo you can't go wrong. Where and What Times?

Normally when a deal is too good to be true it is exactly that however, these films are not shown for free during the middle of the day, or worse night, but at the socially commutable 6:00 pm and even more so, 8:45pm at the Shaftesbury Avenue Cineworld . For a full list of what's on and at what time BAFTA has put together a schedule of what's showing and they have been kind enough to give you several chances to see the film of your choice.

Now by the time you read this it's going to be old news and me and every other money conscious Londoner will have their voucher printed off and have planned next week around free films. What you can expect are queues, as seat availability is on a first come first serve basis, so get there early. Woe to the man, woman or child who actually want's to pay for the film at the alloted time slot who doesn't happen to be carrying one of these - I'll see you in the queue - don't forget the voucher is valid for two and enjoy the free films!
