I challenge myself everyday to beat the gloom of London's weather by searching out places and food that will provide spots of sunshine :)

The long weekend might have just ended, but a free ice cream festival at King's Cross will sweeten up your next weekend.

Ice Cream Festival @ King's cross

Bring countryside to the city and milk a cow (yes, you read this right) at the petting farm, or learn to make nitrogen ice cream and save yourself having to pay 4 pounds for it at Camden Market.

Ice cream lovers will also be able to watch and take part in ice cream art, relax on the Granary Square beach, plus experience a taste of history as the festival brings back the infamous penny lick (a small glass of ice cream that vendors used to sell for one penny).

Of course, if all these isn't enough to pique your interest, then just make your way down and be spoiled by a large array of some of the allegedly best ice cream in the whole South of England.

The festival will take place on 1-2 September, 11am - 6pm at Granary Square, King's Cross. Free admission.
