Bloomsbury is famed for being lovely, with delis and patisseries common beasts littering every corner, but what sets Fork Deli Patisserie - down the road from Euston - apart, aside from its perfect location, is the service, and quality of goods on offer. You'd be surprised how many zone 1 eats get this terribly wrong.

The food isn't just half-decent, it's bloody good, and as a devout vegan - for the past three months - I was sold on their raw, cacao and coconut truffle balls, and polenta lemon cake.

The tea is afair attempt at fine loose leaf. As per, I ordered a green tea. I'll admit, as a loose leaf tea connoisseur, I've had better, but for a quick catch up, it was actually pretty good, especially when other nearby cafes sell the teabag stuff, which I can enjoy at home for free. When I' paying for tea, I want the nice stuff, and finding somewhere this close to Euston which has proper tea leaves, improved my mood no end.

My friend's latte was pretty good too. I don't drink coffee often, but her cup of Joe was above average. Not bad at all.

Oh, and the service was brilliant. It's not often that the smaller places, so ideally located, have winning customer service, but once again, Fork Deli remains the exception. Both members of staff (table service, and chap behind the counter were attentive, and smiley. You can't fault a genuine smile).

For a quick snack pre-journey (train or else), there's nowhere better that serves this quality of food, this close to Euston.
