The Greats Of Country And Rock 'N' Roll In One New Show
Country music meets rock 'n' roll when a rip-roaring live stage production celebrates more than 20 years on the road with a brand new show. Forever in Blue Jeans, which visits the Lichfield Garrick theatre on Saturday 17 June, brings together the greats from both country and rock 'n' roll in what has been described as a perfect feast of entertainment with superb singers, dancers and musicians playing the best in both musical genres. Forever in Blue Jeans will feature songs from such singing talents as Patsy Cline, Garth Brooks, Elvis Presley, Billy Ray Cyrus, The Mavericks, Tammy Wynette, The Carpenters and Carole King, while also bringing hits from some of the great western musicals such as Oklahoma and Paint Your Wagon.
The show is led by television and radio recording artiste Carole Gordon who has toured with both Tammy Wynette and Boxcar Willie. Carole is also the lead vocalist in "Voice Of The Heart - Karen Carpenter" which toured the UK last year, including a performance at the Lichfield Garrick. But joining her as one of the principal cast members is local singer Rachel Cantrell from Burntwood, near Lichfield, who performed in a number of local theatre productions before going on to star in the West End in Casper The Musical.
Local girl made good, Rachel Cantrill, returns to Lichfield
Rachel commented: "I'm really excited to be returning to Lichfield and looking forward to performing at the Garrick. My friends and family will all be there and it will be great to see so many familiar faces in the audience. It's going to be an amazing party!" Carole and Rachel are joined by Gary Thatcher who is returning to the show after a stint in the national touring production of Grease and is widely regarded as one of the UK's top session singers. The vocal trio will be backed by the Red Hot Blue Jeans Band who perform stunning instrumentals which escalate with a grand finale of the great Neil Diamond hit, Forever In Blue Jeans that gives its name to the stage production that has been touring for 22 years.
