I haven't come across many all you can eat healthy restaurants on my travels so it was a real pleasure to come across Foodillic in Brighton, an "eat as much as you like" restaurant for just 6.45. It reminded me a little bit of Whole Foods as you could also fill a box and take away for 1.20 per 100g if you wanted but I chose to eat in and I'm very glad I did. All the food was laid out at the front of the restaurant; fresh bread, spinach and mushroom salad, spicy chic peas and many more cold dishes (full menu here) as well as hot dishes, soup of the day, lamb casserole, chicken paprika, beef bourguignon and pasta, new potatoes, pasta and rice.

It was such a nice spread of food which just looks, feels and tastes like it has been made with love and care. Mainly fresh, tasty vegetarian food but some delicious, high quality meat dishes too.

Brighton is hard to be bettered for eating places, but Foodillic stands head and shoulders above the rest for it's price, quality and homely feel. It is quite small inside but this just adds to the homely atmosphere and the staff are very attentive when needed and very friendly. They also do a great spread of homemade cakes, I was too full by the end of it (I did go up for seconds) so I couldn't manage a dessert but they looked delicious and very good value for only 3 too.

Foodillic makes a nice change from the generic fast food market.

A rare find.
