Visitors will be able to photograph themselves among stunning rows of flowers and pick their own dahlias to take home as the Flora Fields return on Birmingham outskirts this Summer. Family-run Webbs of Wychbold garden centre is behind the spectacular flower fields that this year will include music, yoga, luxury picnics and floral artistry workshops.
The
Flora Fields in Worcestershire, between Bromsgrove and Droitwich off M42 Junction 5, will open for 2025 on Saturday August 16 with more than 5,000 dahlias on show. But the season is limited to just six weeks so visitors can only catch it until September 29.
There are more than 60 varieties of the beautiful flower to see and choose from at the fields near Webbs' Riverside Gardens. Sessions are between 10am and 6pm Monday to Sunday during the school holidays but then Monday to Friday from early to late September.
This Summer's programme boasts more events, including floral masterclasses, sunset yoga, live music and a silent disco amid the beautiful backdrop of the dahlias. Visit the
Webbs website here to find out more details.
The immersive pick-your-own (PYO) experience is described as "joyful" by organisers and its debut last year quickly became hugely popular as a day out with a difference in Worcestershire.
It was inspired by co-owner Louise Webbs’ cherished memories of pottering in the garden with her daughter, Flora. When Flora was little, they would gather tulips, alliums, peonies, sweet peas, and dahlias together, which sweetly scented their home. The Webbs family wanted others to feel the same joy they did, which led to the opening of Flora Fields last year. Visitors can choose to pay for a bouquet of 10 stems, a centrepiece of 20 stems or a showstopper of 80 stems.
Visitors to Flora Fields at Webbs can spend up to two hours enjoying the scenery, with food and drink also on offer. There are entry-only tickets or options to also select various dahlias to take home and activities to book, from watching band Dee Acoustic perform at the fields over Bank Holiday weekend to tranquil yoga sessions.
Floral Masterclasses will take place with
Hannah Walker from Bride and Bloom on Sunday September 14 who recently won Best Florist in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire in the Muddy Stilettos Awards, and also with Anna, the owner of Flowers by Anna Brian, pictured below, on various dates
as shown here .
While Sophie of Sophie Ward Wellness will hold yoga sessions in the tipi as the sun comes down in sessions that cost £10 and include entry to see the fields too. It can be booked
here .
Among other attractions within the Flora Fields are a bright pink tractor ideal for a selfie and Prosecco picnics and cream teas that can be pre-booked. Portrait photographer Laura Truby can also be booked in advance to capture a special visit amid the dahlias for couples, families or friends through the
Webbs Whatson page .
When it comes to food, there are sweet and savoury grazing boxes to try or a classic cream tea, paired with a bottle of chilled prosecco, plus a choice of teas, coffees and soft drinks available.
Picnics over £25 are said to be beautifully presented in a premium picnic hamper, complete with a blanket, to allow visitors to relax on grass amongst the blooms. If not, there will be a cosy tipi with fairy lights if you'd prefer a regular seat.
Those wishing to enhance the experience even more have the option to book a private luxury horsebox to dine in while enjoying the Flora Fields.
Now in its second year, Flora Fields reflects the heart of the Webbs brand – family, horticultural heritage, and a deep-rooted connection to the beauty of the British landscape. Founded in the 1850s as a seed merchant business by Edward Webb, Webbs has grown into one of the UK’s most respected and trusted names in gardening.
From supplying seeds to British monarchs to cultivating beautiful spaces today, Webbs continues to celebrate its horticultural legacy through experiences like Flora Fields – a living, blooming expression of its values and history.
