There are so many chains of Starbucks, Nero's and Costas in London nowadays that finding a brilliant coffee shop has become much harder. This is where Flat White comes in. It's a brilliant coffee shop where you can sit in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by likeminded people and welcoming staff.

I come here for the coffee. And they never disappoint. Beautifully creamy flat whites and a perfect iced coffee - made only of coffee, milk and ice. And very nice chocolate brownies - delicious in fact.

Flat White is located in the vibrant heart of Soho amidst the Berwick Street Market: A frontier land between the Old Soho of street traders, sex workers and vinyl shops and the New Soho of creative industries, media and fashion. Perfect for meetings, coffee with your book or a laptop, or a place to meet friends in the heart of London post work.

Flat White was established in September 2005 to bring the refined artisan style coffee prevalent in Australian and New Zealand cafes to London. Flat White has become a rendesvous for Soho locals and a haven for Australian and New Zealand expats and travellers desperate for a good coffee in the capital that you really just don't get from any of the chains.

This coffee shop is frequently featured in 'top ten' lists for the best coffee shops in London but it definitely comes number 1 on my list. Just a few short years ago, we didn't even know what a flat white was. Now the caffeinated cuppa - stronger, smaller and less milky than a latte, much like a cappuccino but with less froth - is the beverage of choice among the more discerning coffee drinkers.

This small, buzzing cafe often attracts queues out the door and it can be hard to get a seat. If you can get one, definitely sit in as it's a perfect people watching space in the heart of Soho with an extensive menu and very decent prices. However, if there isn't anywhere to park your bottom, wander through the streets of Soho or take it back to your colleagues... you will be sure to make them jealous just from the smell of the luscious coffee.
