This free event caught my eye because it combines three of my passions: art, shoes and chocolates. And to make it even more appealing, it's being held at a wine estate, What's not to love? It is the First Steps Art Fair at Denbies Art Gallery at Denbies Wine Estate from Monday 5th February to Sunday 11th February 3018, ahead of Valentine's Day to share the love of art, chocolate and shoes.
First Steps Art Exhibitions First Steps Art Exhibitions were created to support artist Dale Sheen (who has Asperger's syndrome) to exhibit his individual style of art. The group now has over forty members - all new and emerging artists, supported by talented professionals. Talented, local and upcoming First Steps artists are returning to exhibit for a week in February with fourteen artists in the Gallery.
The week-long art exhibition will culminate with a one-day Art Fair on Sunday 11th February, hosted in the adjoining Denbies Suite. You will be able to view and buy artwork on a variety of different media, including cards, prints, mugs, notebooks, and other formats.
The artists will be joined by Fifth Dimension Chocolates (5DChocolates.com) and Nina Marie Shoes. Both companies have kindly donated chocolate-inspired art for auction. A silent auction will run online and all week at the exhibition. The two lots are for the Mondrian-inspired chocolate art from Fifth Dimension Chocolates and a pair of Nina Marie's gorgeous and scrumptious chocolate stilettos.
Details of how to enter the auction online are available on the First Steps Art Facebook page, and additional entries can be made in person at the gallery during the week of the exhibition. The donated artworks will be presented to the auction winners on the afternoon of the Sunday Art Fair, on the 11th, with 100% of the auction price going to the very worthwhile charity, National Autistic Society. Please help support this cause and you may win a beautiful artwork.
So join other art lovers and chocolate lovers for an eclectic collection of original art, print and mixed media creations. The new and emerging art from novice and first-time exhibitors will be supported by professional local artists, so there will be something for everyone.
