What you doing this weekend? Going to the same old restaurant, followed by a couple of beers in the same old bar, then onto the same old nightclub to listen to the same old music? Let me change that with one simple word - Fire .

Now that I've got you listening, let me tell you why this catchily-named club secreted in the arches of Vauxhall is worthy of your attention.

First of all, it hosts some of the best nights in London, leading it to be known as one of the best clubs South of the River Thames. This is the club, after all, that hosted the famous Chemical Brothers DJ set which supported the release of their film (and I was there for it...)

The venue has several arched rooms, with the main room being both large, yet intimate, partly due to the curved roof. Also the sound system has to be heard to be believed, it is amazing - perfect for those into their Dubstep or Drum n' Bass, thanks to the amazing lower end sounds it can generate.

Stars of tomorrow play alongside the stars of today, with nights reflecting the range of genres and diversity currently occupying the dance music scene as it is at the moment. You may not recognise all of the names on the night you go to - but there will be no doubting the quality - you will probably find that you will see their names more and more as the venue provides a springboard for some of the hottest talent to flourish.

The venue has held some legendary nights in the past - and helped put some genres firmly on their way to popularity - Swamp81 featured Dubstep superstars Skream and Boddika, while fans of techno were more than catered for when one Easter holiday the legend that is Jeff Mills came to town...

The atmosphere is very welcoming, thanks to the venue being primarily a gay club, though it really is open to all. It tends to attract people leaving other clubs in order to carry on partying, as well as people arriving for the night itself. Amazingly, and it has to be seen to be believed, more rooms open as the club gets busier, creating an interesting labyrinthian space...

So, want to go, but not sure what to go to? Simply look down the listings and see what takes your fancy - then tell your mates, and get yourself along to South London's first Super club - delighting in the fact that whatever time you decide to leave (and be aware this club can keep going till well into the next day), Vauxhall bus station has one of the most comprehensive ranges of night bus routes available to aid the weary traveller - and you may even be in time for the train or tube...
