John Taylor Hospice is set to host its second art exhibition in Birmingham city centre, raising funds to support end of life care.
The exhibition, which will take place on Friday March 18 at Moments Café on Holloway Circus, will feature work by local artists on the theme of fire. After the first exhibition with a water-based theme, which interim head of community investment Marcus Cox described as 'a great success', many local artists have come forward to showcase their work and support the hospice.
Marcus said: "We're lucky to have so many Birmingham artists keen to work alongside the hospice and support the work we do. Some of the artists' best paintings will be on show and this is a great opportunity for members of the public to get their hands on some wonderful pieces of Birmingham art."
John Taylor Hospice provides expert palliative care and practical support across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Today more than 600 people will receive the care they need from the hospice. For every £1 that is spent at the exhibition, 25p will be donated to John Taylor Hospice and 75p will go to the artists.
The fire-themed event is the second of four exhibitions to be hosted by the hospice - the overall theme is the four elements, the first being water with earth and wind to follow later in 2016. The exhibition will be held at the hospice's award-nominated café Moments which opened its doors in the city centre in November. Moments has already proved to be popular with visitors and has been shortlisted for a Birmingham Mail Brummies' Choice award.
The fire-themed art exhibition to support John Taylor Hospice is at Moments Café, Holloway Circus on March 18 from 6.30pm to 9pm. Entry is free and there will be refreshments and live music available.
