To paraphrase Dorothy: 'There is no place like London.' I hope I can convince you of that here. Also check out my blog at damselwithadulcimer.wordpress.com and my theatre reviews at www.playstosee.com

If we are lucky summer has finally arrived, and if we are even luckier it might decide to hang around for a while. Why not spend an enjoyable evening cruising along the Thames between Eel Pie Island, Twickenham and Hampton Court (and back again) in a Mississippi style stern wheeler, dining, listening to live jazz and tasting wine? Can you think of any better way to eat, drink and be merry? This may only be the south of England, but I'm sure you could pretend to be in the southern United States navigating Ole Man River.

These circular river trips on The New Southern Belle will give you an opportunity to taste wine led by Thirty-Fifty, listen to easy-listening and classical Jazz tunes played by Roger Perrin's Jazz Band, and dine on fish and chips, with a vegetarian option available.
