Fernandez & Wells; a perfect spot for a chat with a friend, time with your laptop or a moment of break with cup of coffee.

Fernandez and Wells coffee houses combine quality, cosy atmosphere and original design of independent company with rich offer and central locations of chains. Thanks to that, any of their cafes make a perfect spot for chat with a friend, as well as peaceful time with your laptop when you need to work, but prefer to do it outside than in your own home.

I've been seeing Fernandez & Wells places around London – in Somerset House, near South Kensington Station and in Soho, but have never tried any of them before. They appeared to me a bit snobby and too trendy, so I avoided them. But finally when I was meeting a friend in South Kensington I had a look at the map of independent coffee houses in London and as I couldn't make up my mind, I followed its instructions and visited F&W in South Ken.

It greeted us with a simple modern decor, plenty of food to choose from and nice and knowledgeable staff. There were soups, hot and cold sandwiches and delicious looking cakes. There are also wines on offer and Spanish ham hanging from the ceiling, available in range of sandwiches.



I treated myself to a hot chocolate and can definitely say it was the best hot chocolate (or rather cocoa) I've ever tried. It was neither too sweet nor bitter and \ not thick neither too watery. Simply perfect and I remember that small cup a long time after the visit.

We sat down at the bar counter near the entrance, but the small room next to it looked tempting as well; spacious, light but cosy enough to concentrate on a conversation or your own things. I am already thinking about visiting it again with my laptop!
