You will be able to feed your mind with facts about food at King's College, with a host of talks and panel discussions. Split between three of the college's campuses - the Strand, and Guy's and King's College hospitals - Feed Your Mind will take place either at lunch time or in the evening, and free tickets are bookable via Eventbrite.


Events will consist of panel discussions or single speakers, and topics on offer include:

You and Your Smile – the dental perspectives on how people react to you based on your mouth and your face.

Beefing up Britain – the history of Fray Bentos in Uruguay and England's globalised food chain.


[ADVERT]Superfoods and Heart Disease – a look at the cardiovascular benefits of certain plants compounds.

Feeding the Patient: from Mrs Beeton to Mr Blumenthal – memories of invalid food and historic recipes to stimulate the memory, palate and imagination.

Whisky Galore! – an introduction to whisky for beginners, including a Scottish history of the drink as well as tastings.

The Science of Chocolate to include tastings.


Chinese Food and Medicine and how they relate to Western concepts of disease.

Proof is in the Pudding – food labelling and healthy eating.


Spectacular Food: Celebrity Chefs and Food Politics – you will be encouraged to join in the debate on the role of these influential celebrities.

The Dark Side of Food: Eating Disorders, Comfort Eating and Food Addiction – a panel discussion of many of these aspects that are never far from the media.

The Festival will be rounded up with a screening of the hilm Babette's Feast.
