Cheaper than Subway, healthier than Subway, better than Subway.



When seeing the name to this fast food chain you probably had a similar thought to me: Why would you promote your company under the name 'fatso's'? Surely in the modern day, where health paranoia is ripe, the last thing you would want to do is to advertise your company as some cholesterol-filled, high calorie, grease hub. However, when walking past the shop, the irony quickly becomes apparent and another thought springs to mind: why would I ever want to buy a Subway again?

Fatso's is a cheaper, healthier version of Subway that offers much more value for money. You can purchase any sandwich on the menu for £1.69 and fill it with however much, or however little, salad you like. Although the variety may not be as rich as Subway, these sandwiches are still fantastic and certainly contain much less of the additives and flavourings found in a large amount of the Subway alternatives. The staff are much friendlier and do not look like they have seen a ghost for the last 4 hours of their shift, which I find is a common theme in a lot of Subway branches. They also offer other options, like soup, jacket potatoes and salad, so there is a good, healthy variety available that is modestly priced.

There are two fatso's in Leeds and I really hope this sandwich shop will become a national success. Even though realistically it will never overtake Subway because of the financial power the franchise has I would say that if you are ever hungry, low on cash and fancy a good hearty sandwich then Fatso's is the place to go.
