Father's Day is almost here, so why not spend the day with your dad having fun at the National Army Museum? The 15th-16th June is
Build Your Own Day. Get in the competitive spirit of things, and see who can build the best army tank, trebuchets, and marvellous machines. You will learn handy engineering skills, get to handle items from the museum's collection, tackle the climbing wall, and have a session in the rifle training range.
Once you and dad have had your fun and games, take the rest of the family along and learn all about
A Soldier's Life on the 22nd June. At 2pm & 3.30pm, there will be one-hour workshops with crafts and storytelling. Then on the 27th & 28th July, see miniature models in their
Toy Soldier weekend.
During the autumn, get ready
If The Invaders Come. On the 21st September get a taste of what life was like as a member of the Home Guard. Take part in hand-on activities such as drills, putting out fires, dealing with unexploded bombs, and keeping an eye out for the enemy.
Finally, warm up on the 23rd November at the
Gurkha Food Festival. Nepal has a diverse and unique cuisine with flavourful, rich, aromatic, and spicy food.
