Fabrica (not the namesake of the famous nightclub) is a welcome oasis of coffee heaven on Kingsland High Street. Rustic, industrial interior gives the place an almost cavernous feel. A short jaunt down the stairs and you'll find yourself in a tranquil backyard with more tables. Don't be surprised to find hip Dalston locals mingling or working on their laptops.

Fabrica - entrance
On to the main event – coffee. I hadn't looked into Fabrica prior to stumbling in here one fine day. The first sip of the latte and I could immediately tell that it was indeed Monmouth Coffee which, in itself, is a testament to the consistency of the roaster but also to the skills of the baristas. I've had Monmouth elsewhere on countless occasions, and I can honestly say that no one brings out the flavour like the guys at Fabrica (and Monmouth itself, of course).
I enjoyed the ubiquitous almost croissant on my first visit. A lovely lady next to the counter highly recommended the pies, chiding me that almond croissants are 'such a man's thing'. Regardless, the pastry went down well with the coffee.

Coffee and almost croissant
I've come back since my initial visit and tried their pancetta and tomato Panini. A decent treat if you're ever looking for a light snack to go with your coffee, tea or juice. Soya milk is available. And they also offer free WiFi and baby changing facilities. What else could you need?
