Have you ever been to Kew Gardens? I bet you have, such is the popularity of the place. Did you know though there is something equally worthy of your attention - and don't let it pass you by.
Make a little space in your agenda the next time you are on your way to Kew to pay a little visit to the Express Tavern - you'll be so glad you did.
The Express Tavern is a beautiful pub, and what's more a local pub, so it's heart is firmly in the local community. Because of this, there are many different events happening throughout the week - including the staple Quiz Night every Monday.
This is an ale and cider house, so you can be sure that there are plenty of options to partake of on the drinks front - there are an impressive 10 real ale pumps, 5 ciders on tap, as well as numerous bottled variants, and the fact that these are regularly rotated means no lack of choice, so that side of things is sorted.
Then there's the food - a thoroughly solid collection of modern pub classics - think pulled pork, bbq ribs, burgers and Sunday Lunches to finish off the week...my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
If I can divulge a little secret though, especially if we are going to get a little bit of an Indian summer, step out of the back door into the beer garden, as it is really lovely, and quite well hidden.
Go for a pint, or a bite to eat, and finish off your lovely Kew day out well - you'll take the train home feeling so, so content.
