On 17th January 2025 at 6pm, Bonington Gallery is throwing open its doors for the launch of not one, but two exhibitions. Yes, you heard that right. You can swing by, grab a free drink to help you loosen up, and enjoy some delightful bites—just be quick about it because it's first come, first served. And there's music too, because what's an art event without a little groove to set the mood?

First up is "Knees Kiss Ground," a solo showcase by Motunrayo Akinola that dives into the themes of faith and belonging through the lens of everyday objects. Picture this: Motunrayo spent six months at South London Gallery wrangling creativity and now she's ready to share the fruits of her labour with us. The work was originally shown at SLG in 2024, and now it's making its grand tour to Bonington. And then there's "Vitrines #26 : The Aimless Archive" by the Hull-based collective that plays with text, performance, and a touch of chaos. They're questioning what we keep and what we toss out amidst their quest for collaborative honesty. The exhibitions will be running until 8th March, so if you miss the launch, you have a little leeway—just don't blame us for the FOMO.
